Emma Fernandez-Repollet, PhD

Principal Investigator

The Principal Investigator of the program is Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet. She is Professor in the Department of Pharmacology of the School of Medicine. Dr. Fernández-Repollet occupied the position of Associate Program Director from 1986-1993 and the position of Program Director from 1993-2011.

As Principal Investigator, Dr. Fernández-Repollet oversees the entire Program and has all responsibilities for day-to-day operations ensuring that programmatic goals are met and that appropriate institutional support is provided to the Program. The PI also ensures that the interests of the RCMI Program are taken into account during formulation/revision of policy, both on the Campus and at the level of the University of Puerto Rico Presidency and Central Administration. The experience of Dr. Fernández-Repollet as Vice President for Research and Technology of the University of Puerto Rico system and member of the National Advisory Research Resources Council has proved helpful in addressing these responsibilities. Dr. Fernández-Repollet chairs the Steering Committee of the RCMI Translational Research Network (RTRN).

 

 

Staff

Jordana Ramírez

Program Administrator

Ms. Jordana Ramirez handles all administrative matters related to the Program, including accounting, ordering, contracts, personnel actions, preparation of external and internal reports, etc., and supervises office staff. She works directly with the Key Activity Leaders to solve any administrative problems which may arise in relation to their activities. Ms. Ramirez is a member of the Society of Research Administrators International (SRA), the National Council for Research Administrators (NCURA) and the RCMI National Administrators Association. She joined the RCMI Program in 2007.

 

 

Natalie Alamo

Project Manager

Ms. Alamo serves as liaison between the Administrative Core, the Core Leaders, and Technicians.  She assists with the Career Enhancement and Evaluation components, coordinates the collection of data required for internal and external federal reports, and organizes evaluation processes (surveys, interviews, questionnaires).  She also manages information and activities from the Infrastructure Core, and coordinates professional development events such as seminars, workshops, meetings, courses, and other activities. 

 

 

Carmen D. Cintrón

Administrative Secretary

Ms. Carmen D. Cintrón joined the RCMI Program in 1994 and is responsible for all matters related to human resources. She processes all documents required for the recruitment of personnel associated with the Program. In addition, she maintains updated records related to time and effort reports, collects attendance reports of administrative/technical personnel, and monitors and documents changes and amendments of personnel forms.

 

 

 

Margarita Díaz

Administrative Secretary

Ms. Margarita Díaz is responsible for processing requisitions, purchases orders, accounts payable, as well travel requests and liquidations, contracts, and visitor’s travel agreements. She is also responsible for the coordination of meetings and providing logistics support to seminars and workshops. Ms. Díaz has knowledge and experience in accounting and compliance with institutional administrative and federal requirements. She joined the RCMI Program in 2000.
