One of the activities under the RCMI Program is to provide funds for facilitating training activities in relevant research areas.
To accomplish this goal, funds are available to enable short visits of Medical Sciences Campus faculty and graduate students to learn research techniques and develop collaborative relationships with senior scientists outside of Puerto Rico. Abstract presentations are not a focus of this initiative.
Research training in areas relevant to health disparities (e.g., cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and neurological disorders, HIV, infectious diseases, etc.), population studies, and community engagement are encouraged and will be given priority.
