Recruitment and Hiring

Bioinformatics is a multidisciplinary field which spans from biomedicine via computer science to mathematics. It also ties together the life sciences and makes major contributions to, among other subjects, functional, comparative and structural genomics, proteomics and pharmacogenomics.

A major long-term goal of the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus is to develop the area of bioinformatics. To help achieve this goal, the RCMI Program requested funding from the Puerto Rico Trust of Science, Technology and Research (PRTSTR) to create a competitive recruitment package for a “magnet investigator” who can lead the development of the bioinformatics field at the UPR Medical Sciences Campus.

An external search will be conducted and the recruitment policies and procedures of the UPR Medical Sciences Campus will be followed at all times.
