Flow Cytometry Laboratory

 Flow Cytometry Facilities

Description of Facilities

The Flow Cytometry Unit was established in 1986 to provide a state-of-the-art facility for qualitative and quantitative cellular analysis. This laboratory functions under common-use guidelines, and is shared by multiple users. The facility operates with personnel from different departments and schools at the Medical Sciences Campus.

The specific objectives of this unit are to provide access to flow cytometry technology resources to investigators, students, and technical personnel; to train users in the utilization of flow cytometry; instrumentation and in its multiple applications in biological research; to provide basic technical support in flow cytometry methodology to interested users of the facility, and to encourage the development of new methodology and applications in the area of flow cytometry.

Technical expertise is available through affiliated faculty, technical personnel and graduate students. The facility has a strong commitment to both basic and clinical biomedical research.
