RCMI International Research Symposium Steering Committee Meets to Start Planning Activities
The RCMI International Research Symposium Steering Committee met in Puerto Rico on September 9 and 10. The committee started the planning activities for the next RCMI International Symposium to be held in Puerto Rico next year. Present at the meeting were (above from left) James Brock, Consultant for Special Events; José G. Conde, M.D., M.P.H., Associate Program Director, Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico; Beatrice Raiford, Special Assistant, Morehouse School of Medicine; Walter Sullivan, Ph.D., Vice-President for Operations and Planning, Morehouse School of Medicine; Emma Fernández-Repollet, Ph.D., Program Director, Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico; Osvaldo Rosario, Ph.D., Program Director, Río Piedras Campus, University of Puerto Rico, and Yasuhiro Yamamura Ph.D., Program Director, Ponce School of Medicine.
The committee discussed issues related to both planning and logistics of the activity, including research areas, abstract submission, guest speakers, and oral and poster presentations. According to the discussions, the RCMI International Research Symposium will be a showcase of high quality and relevant research.
