Publication of Epidemiological Profile of HIV/AIDS in Puerto Rico 1981-1998

Congratulations to Drs. Rosa Pérez Perdomo, Cynthia M. Pérez Cardona, Arturo Morales Beyoda, Erick L. Suárez Pérez and Jorge L. Santana Bagur for their recent publication "Perfil Epidemiologico del VIH/SIDA en Puerto Rico 1981-1998" (Epidemiological Profile of HIV/AIDS in Puerto Rico 1981-1998). This is the second edition of a monograph that offers an up-dated epidemiological profile of AIDS in the Puerto Rican population. It provides basic and clinical investigators, physicians, students and health professionals with actualized information and a unique reference source for knowing the magnitude of the problem and the direction of the epidemic in the Island. Such information is extremely important in preventing and controlling the spread of the disease. The publication was sponsored by Glaxo Wellcome.
