CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:
FUNDS FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS DEVELOPMENT IN RESEARCH

One of the activities under the RCMI Program is to provide funds for graduate students development in research. This year, a total of $4,000 is available to enable graduate students to learn new research techniques and/or develop collaborative relationships with senior scientists outside of Puerto Rico. Funds may be used for travel and housing , as well as other related expenses.

Students interested in applying for this award should submit the following:

  • brief description of the intended activity, 
  • statement of its relevance to the research development of the applicant, 
  • dates of the proposed activities, 
  • description of arrangements with scientists outside of Puerto Rico, 
  • applicant's biographical sketch (PHS 398 form), 
  • budget of the activity, and 
  • a letter of support from the student's advisor. 

The proposal should be submitted to Dr. José G. Conde, Associate Program Director, at the RCMI office by March 20, 1998. Proposals will be reviewed by the RCMI Internal Advisory Committee, and funds awarded on a competitive basis. It is anticipated that four awards ($1,000 each) will be made based on availability of funds.
