Dr. José G. Conde Member of HealthGrid 2008 and Immersive Medical Telepresence 2008 Program Committees

Dr. José G. Conde, Associate Program Director at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, has been invited to act as a member of program committees for two symposia: HealthGrid 2008 and Immersive Medical Telepresence 2008.

The sixth HealthGrid Conference dedicated to grids for life science and healthcare will be held in Chicago from June 2 - 4, 2008 at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center. The HealthGrid conference is the premier conference on the transformation of biomedical research, education and medical care through the application of Grid technologies. The conference program will include a number of high-profile keynote presentations, complemented by a set of presentations. The second edition of the Immersive Medical Telepresence Conference focuses on the use of high quality immersive technologies for clinical care, biomedical research, and medical education. It will be held on May 6-8, 2008 at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The audience will include clinicians and faculty using or planning to implement immersive systems, the technology staff supporting such systems, and vendors of related technologies. Included will be such technologies as high definition video (streaming and real-time videoconferencing), simulation environments (from mannequin-based to virtual worlds), and scientific visualization.
