Dr. Carmen Zorrilla Named to NIH's Advisory Committee on Research on Women's Health
The Office of Research on Women's Health (ORWH) announced today the appoint ment of Dr. Carmen Zorrilla, Professor in the Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, to the agency’s Advisory Committee on Research on Women's Health (ACRWH). The NIH Revitalization Act of 1993 charges the committee with advising the director of ORWH on appropriate research activities to be undertaken by the national research institutes with respect to research on women's health. The committee includes 18 members who are appointed by the NIH Director to serve four-year terms. Dr. Zorrilla was appointed along with four other new members.
"We are delighted to welcome these five outstanding individuals as new members to the NIH Advisory Committee on Research on Women's Health," said ORWH Director Vivian W. Pinn, M.D. "They bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise about women's health, research, health professional education, and biomedical career development to NIH and we look forward to their guidance as we continue to address current scientific issues of importance for the public health."
