Dr. Walter Frontera, Dean of the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine
Dr. Walter Frontera a pioneer in health, exercise and aging research at Harvard University has been recruited as the new Dean of the School of Medicine. Dr. Frontera a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine was also the Earle P and Ida S Charlton professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Harvard's Medical School.
Dr. Frontera serves in more than a dozen advisory boards and has formed affiliations with dozens of institutions. He sits on three NIH advisory boards. Furthermore, he has edited ten books and serves in the editorial boards for medical journals in the United States, Argentina and Brazil. In a recent interview, Dr. Frontera’s expressed his commitment to "promote clinical investigation and use basic science to improve clinical service".
The RCMI Program congratulates Dr. Frontera on his new appointment and looks forward to continue a strong collaboration with the School of Medicine under his leadership.
