Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet Appointed Acting Vice-President for Research and Technology of the University of Puerto Rico

Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet

Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet, Director of the RCMI Program at the Medical Sciences Campus, was appointed Acting Vice-President for Research and Technology of the University of Puerto Rico on August 25, 2003. Dr. Fernández earned a masters degree and a doctoral degree in physiology from the University of Puerto Rico, as well as post-doctoral fellowships from Duke University and the University of North Carolina.

Dr. Fernández is Professor at the Department of Pharmacology of the School of Medicine. She has been associated to the Medical Sciences Campus RCMI Program since its beginnings in 1986, when she occupied the position of Associate Program Director. She became Program Director in 1995. During her tenure as Acting Vice-President, Dr. Fernández will continue to fulfill her responsibilities as RCMI Program Director at the Medical Sciences Campus. She was recently elected President of the RCMI Program's Directors Association.
