Dr. J. Paul Robinson, Professor at Purdue University, visits the UPR Medical Sciences Campus
Dr. J. Paul Robinson, Professor of Immunopharmacology and Biomedical Engineering and Director of Purdue University Cytometry Laboratories visited the UPR Medical Sciences Campus on April 11-12, 2002. The visit was organized through the Center for Information Architecture in Research, which is coordinated by Dr. José G. Conde, Associate Director of the RCMI Program. Dr. Robinson's seminar focused on the topic: "Learning and Teaching in the 21st Century". During his presentation, Dr. Robinson summarized for the audience the learning and teaching approaches used currently as well as 30 years ago. This provided the background for his view of what the learning and teaching process will be in 2030.
The audience, who included graduate students, investigators and high school teachers, received with great interest and enthusiasm his futuristic vision of the learning and teaching process. Besides presenting a seminar, Dr. Robinson met with the staff of the Center for Information Architecture in Research to discuss programmatic issues, including the use of computer in research applications.
