Clark Atlanta University Hosts
RCMI Research Symposium
The RCMI Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Development at Clark Atlanta University hosted the symposium Latest Advances in Cancer Research on April 26 and 27. This activity showcased the research endeavors of investigators from several institutions in the United States, including major cancer research centers. Dr. Sidney McNairy, Jr., Associate Director, Division of Research Infrastructure, NCRR, NIH, and the Honorable John Lewis, Member of the United States Congress (5th district, Georgia) served as keynote speakers.
The Center also hosted a research collaboration workshop on April 25, 2001. The workshop provided an opportunity for investigators at RCMI Programs to share information about their current projects and to establish research collaborations among RCMI programs. This activity was sponsored by the RCMI Program Directors Association.
The RCMI Program Directors Meeting was held on April 28. Medical Sciences Campus faculty attending these activities included Dr. Earl Kicliter, from the Institute of Neurobiology; Dr. Annabel Segarra, Coordinator of the RCMI Image Analysis Resource Center; Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet, RCMI Program Director, and Dr. José G. Conde, Associate Program Director.
We congratulate Dr. Juarine Stewart, RCMI Program Director at Clark Atlanta University and President of the RCMI Program Directors Association, as well as her staff, for an excellent organization of these activities.
