Outstanding Graduate Students are Recognized by the Associate Deanship of Biomedical Sciences and Graduate Studies of the School of Medicine

Outstanding Graduate Students

On May 11, 2001, Dr. Walter Silva, Associate Dean of Biomedical Sciences and Graduate Studies of the School of Medicine recognized in a special ceremony the outstanding work and achievements of four of its graduate students. Dr. Francisco Joglar, Dean of the School of Medicine as well as many faculty members and graduate students attended the activity.

The recipients of the award for academic year 2000-2001 were:

Yamil Gerena, Department of Pharmacolgy

Yamil Gerena López from the Department of Pharmacolgy, Mentor: Dr. Emma Fernández-Repollet;

Marcelo Febo, Department of Physiology

Marcelo Febo Vega from the Department of Physiology, Mentor: Dr. Annabelle Segarra;

Edwin Sánchez, Department of Microbiology

Edwin Sánchez Carrasquillo from the Department of Microbiology, Mentor: Dr. Loyda Meléndez.

The RCMI Program congratulates this group of exceptional graduate students for their academic accomplishments and wishes them success in their research careers.
