Research News: Book Publication - Dr. Sabzali Javadov

The Center for Collaborative Research in Health Disparities congratulates Dr. Sabzali Javadov, Professor of the Department of Physiology at the School of Medicine UPR Medical Sciences Campus who served as the Editor of the book: Mitochondria: The Cell Powerhouse and Nexus of Stress published by Frontiers Media SA, Switzerland.

Frontiers Research Topics are collections of Original Research and Review Articles focusing on a particular subject under leading Topic Editors. In this edition, Dr. Javadov together with his colleague Dr. Andrey Kuznetsov, Professor of the Innsbruck Medical University, Austria, served as Topic Editors. The book contains 15 outstanding original research and review articles from invited contributors addressing the role of mitochondria in the regulation of cell metabolism and signaling under physiological and pathological conditions including cardiovascular, neurodegenerative and other diseases, and aging. Mitochondria have been widely considered as an important target for various pharmacological and conditional therapeutic approaches due to their critical roles in both cell death and survival. Studies performed on cultured cells and isolated organs/tissues using different animal and cellular models of various diseases are also included and discussed in this special publication.
