25th RCMI Collaborative Travel Awards

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Deadline for submission:
Friday, March 31, 2017

One of the activities under the RCMI Program is to provide funds for facilitating training activities in relevant research areas.  To accomplish this goal, funds are available to enable Medical Sciences Campus faculty and graduate students for short visits to learn new research techniques and/or develop collaborative relationships with senior scientists outside of Puerto Rico. Abstract presentations are not a focus of this initiative. Research training in areas relevant to health disparities (i.e. cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and neurological disorders, HIV, infectious diseases, etc.) and community engagement is encouraged.  Allowable expenses include travel expenses and housing, as well as other related expenditures. Travel activities must be completed by June 30th, 2017.

Funds are limited to $1500-2000 or less per travel award. Faculty and graduate students interested in applying for this award must completely fill the attached form and submit it with the necessary supporting documents to rcmi.rcm@upr.edu by Friday, March 31, 2017.  ONLY E-MAIL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Proposals will be reviewed by an Ad-Hoc RCMI Committee and funds awarded on a competitive basis.  Awards will be made based on availability of funds.

If you need additional information, please contact the RCMI Program at extension 1620.
